Privacy Policy

We, at Foundation for Ed-equity, respect the privacy and trust between the users and ourselves. Hence, we recommend you go through the following policy regarding the user information collected, used, and disclosed by us.

Disclaimer:

This privacy policy is addressed to the users above the age of [Age (preferably 13 as specified in COPPA, U.S.)]. If you do not fall under this age, please ask your guardian to review the policy and accept the same. Once the policy is accepted, Foundation for Ed-equity will not be liable for any claims made, regarding the same.

Clause 1: Definitions:

  • Information: The personally identifiable information, financial and payment information, authentication information, phonebook, contacts, device location, SMS and call-related data, microphone, camera, and other sensitive device or usage data collected by Foundation for Ed-equity by any means will now onwards be addressed as Information.

  • User: Any individual or organisation, or, the guardians of such individuals, using the resources provided through any means by Foundation for Ed-equity will hereafter be referred to as User.

  • Resources: Any services, platforms, content, or any other property, rented, served, hired, or sold to the user will hereafter be referred to as Resources.

Clause 2: Information collected:

All or some of the following information may be collected from the user of the resources falling under the domain of the Foundation for Ed-equity:

User-Provided Information:

  • Name

  • Age

  • Contact information (Address, E-mail, and Phone Number)

  • Identifiers (Photo, Fingerprints, User names, and other unique identifiers)

  • Transaction Related Information

  • Ward’s Name

  • Ward’s Age

  • Education-related details of the user (in case of guardians, the same of the wards)

  • Information provided while raising queries

  • Information shared by the user with consent through the resources, with other users.

Automatically Collected Information:

  • User information collected through third-party integrations including but not limited to Google analytics and Google ad-words

  • Type, IP addresses, Browser related information, and other log data from the devices used

  • Occasional access to User location, Device camera, Device microphone, and Device storage (After user permission)

  • User communication

  • Application Usage in the device

  • Screen recordings

Clause 3: Purpose of collecting such information:

The above-mentioned information is collected for fulfilling the following purposes:

  • To identify the user through their credentials and provide proper access for smooth services

  • For the processing of any payments made, and ease in further payment processes

  • To provide a customised and age-appropriate experience to the user throughout the accessible resources

  • To provide a contextual and prompt solution to queries and problems to the user

  • To provide customised marketing services and personalized contextual content to the user

  • To send important information regarding the resources

  • For analysis, market research, administration of resources, and for educational or any other profiling of a user

Clause 4: Information Sharing:

The above-mentioned information may be shared in case of the following situations:

  • In case of legal dispute; if required by Law

  • For processing payments through third-party integrations

  • If the user opts in for using recommended third-party resources

  • With government agencies, mandated under the law

  • If shared publicly or with other users of the resources, by the user (In the case of User Generated Content)

The user is advised to go through the privacy policy of any resources used outside the domain of Foundation for Ed-equity, and provide consent only if satisfied. The user has the right to opt out of such services himself/herself or by contacting us via [Contact information].

Clause 5: User Consent:

Before opting for any services, the user must go through the above-mentioned points and should provide consent in his/her full senses. Once the above points are agreed upon and permissions are provided, Foundation for Ed-equity reserves the right for collecting and using the information as mentioned above, unless the user chooses otherwise.

The user reserves the right of opting out of the permissions whenever he/she wishes to. The permissions to access the hardware of the device can be controlled through the settings of the devices. From there, the permissions provided to the resources can be revoked. The user can revoke other permissions by writing to us at support@ed-equity.org.

Foundation for Ed-equity reserves the right to revoke access to some or all the resources upon opting out of such permissions.

Clause 6: Update and access information:

The user holds the right to check or update the information collected by Foundation for Ed-equity by writing to us at support@ed-equity.org.

Foundation for Ed-equity ensures the encryption of your passwords and never discloses it to anyone else except in one of the cases mentioned in clause 4. It is important to note that Foundation for Ed-equity may have access to the user’s credentials, used for the third party resources, used by the user under the recommendation provided across the resources falling under the domain of Foundation for Ed-equity. We employ all the legal and ethical practices while using such information in compliance with these privacy policies.

Foundation for Ed-equity will have the right to make changes/updates to such credentials and information, as and if deemed necessary for ensuring smooth services for the user. For this, either Foundation for Ed-equity will ask permission or send a notification via appropriate means, to the user.

Clause 7: Use of cookies:

Some of our resources use cookies which are the small pieces of data containing all or some of the information as mentioned in clause 1. These pieces are sent back to our database through the resources used by the user. The cookies are used for analysis and tracking your usage of resources, to contextualise and personalise content and services. User has the right to know about such cookies and the information they provide. Please contact us via support@ed-equity.org about the questions regarding the same. We do not share any information collected via cookies with any third party.

Most browsers ask permission to send cookies, and also provide an option to opt out. However, Foundation for Ed-equity bares the right to decide on providing certain services and resources, in such cases.

Clause 8: Advertisements:

The resources provided by Foundation for Ed-equity do not contain any advertisements or paid promotions. Any third-party resources mentioned in those resources are strictly for aiding the educational growth of the user. Foundation for Ed-equity is not responsible for any advertisements in a third-party application. Users are liable to go through third-party applications’ privacy policies and approve of the same.

Clause 9: User Generated Content:

Foundation for Ed-equity is not liable for protecting the privacy of any UGC (User Generated Content) and assumes that the user has provided such content with their full consent.

Clause 10: Security Measures:

We value your trust in providing us with your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Hence, user discretion is required before accepting the policy.
